Please join us for the next Strategy, Training, and Research Consortium (STaRC) on May 17 from 10am-noon where we will explore challenges LGBTQIA+ youth and children face in child welfare. Our research intern, Bradley McLain, will introduce a research in action article on the subject. Next, we will have Adam McCormick, PhD, MSSW, Assistant Professor of Social Work at St. Edward’s University share his research on the intersections of child welfare and LGBTQIA+ identities. He teaches courses in child welfare and social work with families. Dr. McCormick’s latest book, LGBTQ Youth in the Child Welfare System: Empowering Approaches to Create an Inclusive System, is a great resource for professionals who want to understand more about LGBTQIA+ youth’s experiences and embed that knowledge into action to build more inclusive spaces.
