Three-day CSEY Virtual Training

GEMS VSL: Victim, Survivor, Leader

The Center will be hosting a 3-Day CSEY Training: GEMS VSL: Victim, Survivor, Leader

Participants will learn about the Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS) VSL program model. The VSL™ curriculum is based on two foundational principles that shape and guide all of GEMS’ work: Survivor Leadership and Transformational Relationships, which are vital for effective youth development, particularly victims of CSEC. Topics to be covered in this three-day training include Stages of Change, Stages of VSL, Locus of Control, Application of Values, Engagement, Creating Change, Encouraging Agency-Wide Commitment, among others.

This training is geared for those working with commercially sexually exploited children/youth and who are ready to augment their specialized service provision with a survivor empowerment/leadership focus, which is at the heart of all of GEMS programming.

GEMS has been providing survivor-led trainings on the VSL™ model since 2011, and has provided comprehensive VSL™ trainings to professionals throughout the United States. The trainings are survivor-driven and survivor-led.
