The Texas Center for Child and Family Studies is excited to offer a two-part, 8-hour, FREE, live, on-line training: CE-CERT (Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma) with Dr. Michael Gomez.
CE-CERT (Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma) is an evidence-informed model that was developed by Dr. Brian Miller to support the emotional well-being of providers who are exposed to the effects of secondary trauma and burnout. The focus of CE-CERT is to develop skillfulness in learning and practicing a set of behaviors and strategies for sustaining a career in the helping professions. The model goes beyond self-care and recommends and teaches five core and interlinking components: experiential engagement, reducing rumination, conscious narrative, parasympathetic recovery, and reducing emotional labor.
Child Welfare Clinical Professionals and Leaders – We encourage child and family serving organizations to send up to two clinicians as well as up to two supervisors/leaders/administrators
Training dates: May 26 and May 27, 8 a.m. to noon each day.
After attending the training, participants will be offered up to ten hours of coaching and consultation as they are applying and using the model
The goal of this training is to support child welfare organizations so they can provide the highest quality care to the children and youth they serve.
