SUMMARY:Advanced Skill Building Strategies for Supporting Commercially Sexually Exploited Youth
DESCRIPTION:This three-hour virtual workshop builds on CSEC 101 and includes an in-depth discussion about the psychological impacts of trauma for youth impacted by sexual exploitation\, including an exploration of common dynamics and the impact on providers when serving and supporting commercially exploited youth. We will also discuss why and how common psychological strategies and defenses happen\, such as: fragmentation\, splitting\, denial\, and projection. Finally\, we will practice CSEC and trauma informed care strategies and briefly review the stages (cycle) of\nchange and motivational interviewing techniques that can be used to support youth involved in CSEC. \nDate/ Time: July 21\, 2026 from 10:30am-2:00pm CT
